Cut through the water,
like a fish or a boat
or a paddle from a canoe.
Be anything but human
for a few simple moments,
Moments that are stopped,
Held in time
securely, yet oh so gentle.
Like a child clutching
a beloved blanket
while they sleep.
My mind
quiet.
Void of emotion or thought,
there’s no analyzing here.
No planning or worrying.
Just silence.
Beautiful, dignified silence.
Requesting nothing of me,
but to allow it be.
Its moments like these,
when my mind gets to rest,
that keep me pushing
through day to day struggles,
and keep me coming back,
to dive into that peace
one more time.
